Designed by Big Bad Wolf, the "Poli Power" shirt memorializes FiA Metro's Poli who inspired us all during her brave fight with ovarian cancer. The woman wearing the cape represents Poli, the strongest woman most of us have had the privilege to know. No fighting superhero would be complete without Poli’s "Bob” haircut! It is well known throughout the Charlotte community that Poli was a person who always put others before herself, a leader who made a difference, and since the Metro region's inception, served as a steadfast FiA warrior!
"Poli Power” is not just about showing up at a regular morning workout—in rain and shine, good times and bad. This shirt embodies Poli’s battle and reminds us all to be strong in the face of our own struggles.
Knowing that FiA goes beyond the workouts we share together and the support we provide one another, Poli’s family asked that all FiA proceeds from the sale of Poli shirts be donated to Teal Diva in memory of Poli. Teal Diva is nonprofit with a mission to educate the community and fund diagnostic research for ovarian and other gynecologic cancers.
On Saturday, April 28, FiA and F3 will come together with their 2.0s of all ages to honor Poli at the 4th Teal Diva 5K. The race is now launching from Freedom Park and a portion of the route will be on Poli’s greenway trail.
